DAVE KEEP

It is with great sadness that the club have to announce the passing of Dave Keep. He passed away Friday 2nd February.

Dave was a member of the Club from the mid 50’s, from being a sidecar passenger with Bill Turner to being a working member during our time at Beenham and later venues.

RIP Dave

Dave’s Funeral will take place on Thursday 29th February.

BRUCE MAGGS

It is with great sadness that the club have to announce the passing of Bruce Maggs, he passed away peacefully on the 27th December 2023 after a long illness.

Bruce was one of the longest serving members of the club both as a rider and as one of the hardest working members for many years and will be greatly missed.

TERRY WEEDY

The Mortimer Club wish to convey their deepest condolences to the family of Mr Terry Weedy, who sadly passed away on the 4th January this year.

Terry was well known to the club, having set out his stall selling Avery Products for many years at the Mortimer track and countless other classic events around the country. Terry will be greatly missed.

His Funeral is on Thursday 25th January, at 10am, at the Wessex Vale Crematorium, Bubb Lane Southampton SO30 2HL

Following the sad death of one of our Vice Presidents, John Giles, we are now pleased to announce the appointment of a new Vice President, Mike Smith.

2024 the club will be celebrating its 90th Anniversary, we will be finalising details for a celebration meeting in the new year, look out for details

The club recently handed over a cheque in the sum of £5,000 to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance, thankyou to all that contributed with donations.

We hold a Business meeting on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 8pm (except December) at Burghfield.

Without them we can’trun our classic scrambling meetings for obvious safety reasons.

Being a marshal at a Mortimer Classic Scrambles meeting does have its benefits- 1,Free entry to a great days racing 2,

You must be over 18 years old to qualify as a marshal. If you are interested in being a marshal for the 2024 scramble season or even just one meeting.
